ETHIOPIA

SUKE AFURSA WS | YIRGACHEFFE | GRADE 1 | WASHED

The Suke Afursa Washing Station, owned by Dershaye, is located in the Yirgacheffe region and has a capacity of around 150 raised drying beds. It is managed by Mesfen and employs up to 400 people during the peak season. Around 950 coffee farmers from the region deliver their cherries to the Suke Afursa Washing Station throughout the season. To produce fertilizer for the upcoming season, the coffee pulp is composted. As this year's harvest was lower compared to the last years due to the long rainy season, the preparation of the coffees received higher attention. This results in this year's great quality.
