ETHIOPIA
HAMBELA WS | GUJI GRADE 1 | NATURAL | ORGANIC
In the picturesque Oromiya region of Ethiopia, the Guji zone stands out for its rich natural heritage and vibrant community culture. Known for its exceptional coffee quality, this area offers ideal conditions for coffee cultivation. The Hambela Washing Station (also known as Dabaye) works here with 3,500 smallholder farmers to promote sustainable agricultural practices and ensure outstanding coffee.
The name "Hambela Wamena" comes from the Oromo language and means "Land of the Survivors." The washing station is located at an altitude of 2000meters and covers about 3 hectares. This coffee comes from a meticulously hand-picked and processed micro-lot. It grows in fertile loamy soil, which favors plant growth.
