Cassien Nibaruta bought the Gaterama Washing Station in 2016 and used his engineering skills to build it in the most professional manner. His goal was to process solely high quality coffee and to work closely with local farmers, who grow coffee on small farms of up to 200 coffee trees. When honey-processed the cherries are sorted by hand and pulped. They are then spread on drying tables with the mucilage remaining on the parchment. This causes the unique honey flavour to develop.
